February is a month for lovers… and birthdays. My birthday to be exact. It’s a good month to be born and a good month to be alive. Charleston is balmy and cool with rain on and off and everything covered in displays of hearts and chocolate. Every Saturday in February you can celebrate Gullah Heritage at the Charles Pinckney National Historic site in Mt. Pleasant, the Charleston Harbor Oyster Roast is the 4th and the 18th, and there are lots of good plays in town to take your sweetheart too. As far as the hostel goes, we are doing tons of renovating but it doesn’t mean that we’re not having a good time. After all, February 11th is a great day in history and we must do our best to celebrate it. Oprah’s coming to Charleston, and so is James Taylor… you should too…here are some pictures…

More Bon Paul and Sharky’s.. Joe is very proud of his sign… Asheville is a great place to stop on the way to Charleston…

See how warm it is here! Still growing in February!

After a disappointing show by Allman Brother’s Bassist Berry Oakley, Greg says “we should all stay single and godless as long as possible” so we don’t lose our edge.
