Some say that living in the south is good for your complexion; much like a sauna is good for your complexion. Yup, it's a good month to be close to water...which the NotSo Hostel is.

The official NotSo Hostel photographer was messing around with a new lens this month. The only photo of our Fourth of July Cookout that came out was this glamour shot of the hostel diva, sweet Lulu. Taking photos of fireworks is very, very tricky.

The cookout itself was loads of fun with Mike from Detroit officiating over the ladyfingers, sparklers, and who-knows-what-else-those-explosives-are-called.

Vegetarians and omnivores did their best, in the spirit of the holiday, to get along without too much sniping over how tainted the grill was, or was not, depending on one's allegiance.
