June

Life in Charleston has just been too full and fun this month to take many photos. So this "this month at the hostel" is going to be sadly bereft of illustrations...

It's been a very very busy month. What with the beach, tons of visitors (and the laundry that ensues), friends returning for vacations, and a bursting garden, this hospitator has been trying to catch a breath for weeks. What am I doing writing this page?

Lindsay and Anna enjoy a smoothie and pepper.

Garden goodies staight from the yard to the fryin' pan.

Many mini instruments.

A few lucky (?) hostellers get to take a voyage on the Baby Grand, my brother's houseboat.

A helpful group of guests moves a huge sofa. Here they are, all sitting on the sofa with Lindsay. You can't see said sofa in the photo, but it's velvety orange and shaped like a lima bean. Yummy.
On a more wistful note, the hostel said adieu to long-time inhabitants Rachel and Lydia, Corinne and Nora, for the summer at least. They've gone to Italy, Ecuador, Virginia, and New York, respectively. Fools for leaving the Charleston beach season, but we'll miss them anyway. Until they return...
On an even more wistful note, former hosteller turned Charleston resident ToddBob Kahler is in the hospital with a collapsed lung. Hopefully he'll be out soon.
