Once again, and hugely anticipated, spring comes to Charleston. Tulips are bloomin', cardinals are singin', the cookouts are beginnin' with a vengance.

| We at the NotSo Hostel don't know much about cooking out... yet. We did have our first backyard bar-b-q last week with tasty success. Thank goodness Clint was there for the fire control, and Jim (my bro) to engineer the lights and sound. | ![]() |

T-shirts!
The hostel now has a few select women's style shirts which read "I
entered nirvana at Charleston's NotSo Hostel." Tres chic. Thanks
Lydia. and of course thanks to Andrew for making them all.

| The middle house, long overdue for a paint-job, is about to get one. A select crew pressure-washed (it was our first experience) and we're now scraping, scraping, scraping. whoo-hoo. Other home improvements are a new tile floor for one of the bathrooms at the hostel. It was also our first tiling experience. Thanks specially to Brian and Nora "the nipper" (pictured). | ![]() |

Mike,
the computer genius, is in the process of hooking up a fantastic high-speed
internet system. The vision: a couple of laptops at the front desk to check
out and take to your own private hideaway to make further travel plans or
search for that little orphan annie record player on e-bay. |

| Most importantly, and maybe the least interesting tidbit-- the NotSo won zoning approval to expand. Yay! Now the hostel will be able to house 18 hostellers instead of only 12. It may seem like a small step, but it isn't. No no, this is huge. | ||||

| Coming next month: Easter party! Egg dyeing and egg hunts and bloody marys. | ||||
